FAIRTIME HOURS: Grounds: open at 7am --- Midway: open at 1pm --- Buildings: open 12pm to 10pm

Farmers, gardeners, artists, crafters, bakers, and canners—professionals, hobbyists, and enthusiastic first-timers—from across the State of Maine are already preparing for this year’s Fair. Barns are buzzing as livestock show strings are polished to perfection. Gardeners are selecting their strongest seeds. Bakers and canners are testing prize-worthy recipes. Artists and crafters are putting the finishing touches on their finest creations—all with one goal in mind: earning that coveted Blue Ribbon, “Best in Show” rosette, or Grand Champion trophy.

In 2025, more than 6,000 entries filled 31 departments with energy, pride, and outstanding talent. From agricultural displays, arts, crafts, and floral exhibits to cattle, goat, sheep, horse, and poultry shows, the Fairgrounds were alive with competition and community spirit. Add in the excitement of livestock and tractor pulls and the always-impressive 4-H shows and exhibits, and it’s easy to see why the Skowhegan State Fair continues to be a highlight of the summer.

Some exhibitors enter for the thrill of competition and the pride of seeing their hard work recognized in front of thousands. Others compete for premiums that help offset the cost of raising animals, fund future projects, or even contribute toward college expenses. Whatever the reason, thousands of exhibitors and their families return year after year—rain or shine—to be part of this unforgettable tradition.

Now it’s your turn to step into the spotlight. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or entering for the very first time, we invite you to showcase your talents, celebrate your hard work, and be part of the excitement at the 208th Skowhegan State Fair. We can’t wait to see what you’ll bring to the Fair this year!
