General Information

Fair Dates: August 10 – 19, 2023

Gates Open – 7:00 am          Halls Open – 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm          Midway, Commercial Vendors & Concessions Open – 1:00 pm
Livestock Events & Shows – run all day starting early in the morning

Vehicles

Due to the size of our event and pedestrian traffic, any mobility device powered by batteries, fuel or other engines, cannot be accommodated on the midway with the exception of power wheelchairs and scooters. We request that those units control their speed to the speed of the pedestrian traffic.

ATM Machines

There are 2 ATM machines on the fairgrounds located at the grandstand and outside the Midway Park, which is located at the south west end of grounds, at the end of the Midway.

Maps & Directions

Maps are included in the Fair program and are posted at each entrance gate and at the Main Office, under the Grandstand. The physical address for internet directions is 33 Constitution Avenue, Skowhegan, Maine 04976.

Pets

Pets are not allowed on the Midway at any time except for service/guide animals for guests with disabilities. Please DO NOT leave your pets in your vehicle.

Wheelchair & Stroller Rentals

Wheelchair & Stroller Rentals are not available at this time.

Accessibility

Entrances & aisles are accessible for guests using wheelchairs. Most carnival attractions are accessible, however, carnival staff are not permitted to assist transporting persons to the ride system. They will, however, provide direction to the extent that they are able.
Accommodations have been made on the grounds, in buildings, the grandstand and restrooms to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Accessible parking is available in all public lots. Special needs should be called to the attention of security or fair personnel.

Lost Children

Please visit the Main Office located under the Grandstand or the Sheriff?s Office across from the Grandstand to locate a lost child. Announcements can be made over the grounds from the Main Office.

First Aid Station

First Aid personnel are on duty at all times during open fair hours. The First Aid Stations is located near near Constitution Hall/Park Street Gate #1.

Lost and Found

Lost and found is located at the Maine Office under the Grandstand or in the Sheriff?s Office, across from the Grandstand.

Somerset County Sheriff/Security

All emergency concerns should be directed to security or fairgrounds personnel. Security personnel are on duty during the Fair hours, both on the grounds and in the Sheriff’s office, located across from Constitution Hall, near Gate 1.

The following are not allowed ….

  • Pets
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, heelies, or segways.
  • Cans, bottles or coolers are not allowed.
  • Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
